Frequently asked questions

At Derwaza we believe that choosing bukhoor and oud oil is an experience that begins with knowledge and ends with taste. We have gathered the most common questions here, to help you get to know our products, choose what suits you, and enjoy a buying experience that is easy and clear.

01

What sets Derwaza apart?

At Derwaza we look for the product worth offering before we look for a long list of choices. We select our bukhoor and oud oils with care, with attention to quality, to the scent's character, and to the experience of using them.

We aim to offer an experience that brings together the authenticity of oud and bukhoor, a sound choice, and a modern presentation, so that every piece that reaches you reflects what we want Derwaza to stand for: a choice worth trusting.

02

How does Derwaza ensure the quality of its products?

Quality begins for us with the selection. We choose our products carefully from trusted sources, and assess the characteristics of each product before we approve it, so that we can offer you bukhoor and oud oils whose quality we trust and that we are proud to have carry the Derwaza name.

03

How do I choose the oud oil or bukhoor that suits my taste?

Every product has a scent character of its own: some are quiet and soft, some woody and smoky, some strong and far-reaching.

That is why we set out the character of the scent, its strength and its qualities in every product description, to help you choose. And if you are undecided between more than one option, the Derwaza team will gladly help you find the one closest to your taste.

04

Why do prices differ between types of oud oil and bukhoor?

The value of oud is affected by several factors, chief among them origin, type, quality, rarity, and the way it was extracted or prepared.

That is why two products of similar size or weight can differ in value. The true worth of oud is not measured by quantity alone, but by its characteristics, its quality and the distinction of its scent.

05

Does the scent of oud oil change once it is on the skin?

Yes. The scent can differ a little from one person to another, as the oud oil interacts with the nature and warmth of the skin.

The scent of oud oil can also develop gradually after it is applied, so we recommend using a small amount and leaving it a while, until the detail and character of the scent come through more clearly.

06

What is the correct way to use oud oil?

It is best to apply a small amount to the pulse points, such as the wrist and behind the ear.

Oud oil is a concentrated product by nature, so we recommend starting with a little, letting the scent develop gradually, and then adding more as you wish.

07

What is the best way to use bukhoor?

Start with a small amount of bukhoor on the burner, then add more gradually depending on the size of the room and how far you want the scent to carry.

For safe use, place the burner on a suitable surface in a well-ventilated place, and keep it away from children and from anything flammable.

08

How do I preserve the quality of oud oil and bukhoor?

We recommend keeping Derwaza products somewhere dry and temperate, away from direct sunlight, heat and humidity, and closing the container firmly after each use.

Careful storage helps the product keep its characteristics, its quality and its scent for as long as possible.

09

Derwaza takes care to protect its customers' rights, and in its exchange and return policy it is bound by the provisions of the Consumer Protection Law and by the regulations and decisions in force at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in the State of Kuwait.

Whether an exchange or a return is possible depends on the nature of the product, its condition and the period prescribed by law for it, and the product must be in its original condition under the applicable terms and requirements.

For more details, please see the exchange and return policy page on the Derwaza site.

This is practical commercial wording in plain language, not legal advice. Have a Kuwaiti lawyer review it before launch — the returns, data-protection and governing-law clauses in particular.
